Back from London
April 23rd, 2011I got back from an excellent trip to London this past week. I’ve been busy catching up so I didn’t have time to post until now. On Friday night I DJed at a new northern soul night in Stoke Newington at the Question Mark Bar called Six by Six named after the legendary Earl Van Dyke song of the same name. It was an authentic northern soul night with all the kit. Thanks to Sean for setting it up!
Then on Saturday night we were treated to a great night of dancing and mayhem with Andy Smith and Keb Darge at their awesome Lost and Found Night! We actually checked out this night 5 years ago on our previous visit to Madame Jo Jo’s. Keb and Andy took good care of us that night! Our bourbon and cokes were never empty and we received private dance lessons from the two step master himself, Keb Darge!
On Sunday I awoke with every little sleep to head over to the secret headquarters of Solar Radio to broadcast on Soul People across London and the United Kingdom. I did some promotion for Cultures of Soul and also played some rare Boston soul records as well. I’ll be posting the archived show soon! Thanks to Kenny and Keith for this wonderful opportunity.
